FoodSaver v4440 Vacuum Sealer Reviews

The FoodSaver 4440 is an older design in FoodSaver 4000 line, but it remains a reliable and dependable choice for many consumers. Not as advanced as FoodSaver 5200 and the controls aren't as well laid out as the FoodSaver 4800 but it's still a great choice for consumers that don't need the latest features. The biggest advantage of this model is it's automatic sealing function, you just slide the open bag into the slot and the machine grabs hold and starts sealing, no complicated controls to use or press. It can seal both wet and dry foods, and has a special marinade mode. It comes with a drip tray to catch any excess liquids, and the drip tray is dishwasher safe for fast and easy cleanup. If you're going to be sealing soft foods like bread you'll appreciate the pulse feature which allows you to slowly seal an item and manually stop it before the vacuum seal starts to crush anything. There's also an accessory hose included to allow you to vacuum seal bags or vacuum sealable containers.

Our biggest complaint with this model is the amount of extra wasted bag material the automatic sealer needs, it can really feel wasteful sometimes. Our second complaint is the positioning of the controls, you wouldn't think it makes that much different but compared to the FoodSaver 4800 it's really noticeable. Our final gripe with this model is something we noticed on all of the FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer, they are a lot noisier than you expect them to be.
