FoodSaver V2244 Review
The FoodSaver V2244 is the base model Vacuum Sealer from FoodSaver. This models main selling points are it's small compact size and ease of use. If you need a vacuum sealer, but aren't going to use it very often, this model is a great choice. It's compact size make it extremely easy to store. This model lacks some of the advanced features of higher priced units, making it a lot less complicated to use. It seals both wet and dry food items, and comes with an accessory hose.
There are few issues to be aware of with this model, first of all it's a completely manual vacuum and sealing process. You need to place the bag in the machine, clamp the lid, and press the button. Once you've used a machine with an automatic sealer, it's hard to go back. Secondly there is no on-board bag storage, depending on how often you use your machine this may or may not be an issue for you. While this model has an accessory hose there is no retractable on board storage, so you have to leave it dangling or disconnect it. Lastly as with all FoodSaver models it can be fairly noisy when you're using it.
